Analysis of the development status of China''''s exhibition industry

As an emerging service industry, exhibition industry connects many industries such as industry, agriculture and commerce, and has become a new economic growth point for many cities, and is one of the industries with greater development potential in China. The development degree of a city's exhibition industry can also reflect the visibility and comprehensive strength of the city.

According to the China Convention and Exhibition Economic Research Society's "China Exhibition Data Statistics Report 2021", 5495 offline economic and trade exhibitions will be held nationwide in 2021, with a total exhibition area of 91,835,700 square meters, a net increase of 87 and 14.569,600 square meters compared with 2020, an increase of 1.59% and 18.86% respectively. Although the number of exhibition venues and exhibition area are still lower than the level of 2019 (11,033 and 148.74 million square meters), they have shaken off the decline and shown a recovery growth trend.

On the other hand, with the continuous emergence of cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data and 5G, China's exhibition industry is facing a new transformation. Virtual and online exhibitions are beginning to emerge, giving new momentum to the exhibition industry.
