Die National Pharmaceutical Machinery Expo und die parallel stattfindende China International Pharmaceutical Machinery Expo fanden erstmals in den 1990er Jahren statt, mit jährlichen Sitzungen im Frühjahr und Herbst. Seit 2004 sind sie kontinuierlich als eine der wichtigsten unterstützten Ausstellungen vom Handelsministerium der Volksrepublik China gelistet. Seit 2008 sind sie vom Handelsministerium als Internationale Pharmaceutical Machinery Expo zugelassen.

The exhibits cover various production, processing, testing equipment and related auxiliary equipment required by Western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, biopharmaceutical, animal medicine, pesticide, part of health care products and daily chemical products, food production enterprises.
